Free Wood Turning Demonstrations at Garthowen Garden Centre in November & December

BowlandPenTurningI’m pleased to announce that at the end of November and weekends in December until Christmas, I will be demonstrating wood turning at Garthowen Garden Centre and Coffee Shop in Four Marks, Hampshire. (Map below)

The garden centre will have a huge array of Christmas trees this year, and with their collection of decorations, there is everything you could need for your tree and lights. There’s a coffee shop too that serves unbelievably good coffee, tea and a host of other tempting things!

Sunday 30th November – Bowl and Pen Turning

Bowl and pen turning today between 10am and 4pm. I will be turning some small bowls today and pens too, so visitors can see the process and ask any questions they may have. The items turned will be available for purchase, or I can turn a bowl or pen to order, whilst you watch! How often can you say that you saw the item actually being made!

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December – Pen Turning

Making pens is wonderful. You need to be precise and offer the finest of finishes. I’ll be demonstrating how pens are made, from a block of wood to a fine writing instrument! There will be ballpoints, executive rollerballs and hopefully some fountain pens being turned too. Pens make wonderful gifts at any time of the year, and with Christmas coming, I can turn you a pen while you wait with a coffee from the garden centre coffee shop. Saturday and Sunday 10am – 2pm.

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December – Pens, Bauble and Tree Turning

On the run-up to Christmas, I’ll be turning lovely Christmas baubles of all shapes and sizes out of a variety of woods. I’ll also be turning pens to order, and perhaps even the odd Christmas tree for table centres or mantle decorations.

I’ll also be turning items to order between 9am and 5pm on the Saturday and 10am and 4pm on the Sunday, so if you would like a set of baubles, a pen for a present or a tree turned from a branch, come along today and see how it’s done!

If you would like something made, but can’t stay to see it completed, I can take the order for you on the day together with the full payment and I will make it in the week for you and let you know when it is ready.

Keep up-to-date with me on my Facebook page.
