English Ash Natural Edge Chalice

This was pretty scary to turn, to be honest. A thick branch of an Ash tree in my garden was used for this piece. The last picture in the gallery above shows how it was after a preliminary roughing down.

I wasn’t sure if I should have turned it into more of a goblet than this item, but I think I am glad I left it. The base has some lovely features to it.

Standing 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide, I am very pleased with this piece. It took about two and a half hours to carefully get it down to this shape and finish it with danish oil and lathe polish. It would look very grand on a mantle piece, sideboard or table centre. Very grand.

Cost: £44.99
