10″ Beech Burr Bowl

20150323_135323Sorry for not posting for months and months. I’ve been hectic building and running the new shop, which has been all very exciting as you may have seen on a new website and Facebook page called ‘Martin’s Bazaar’.

It’s all up and running now, and whilst I have been turning on and off, it is only in the last month or so that I have been able to get back into the workshop regularly with enough time to make videos for some of the items I make and to share them with you.

So, for starters, (and on my personal YouTube channel!), here is the first item I’ve turned with a video for simply ages!

A Beech Burr bowl was turned here measuring about 10″ in diameter finished with danish oil, lathe polish and several coats of wax. It took a couple of hours to turn and the figure in the piece is stunning…it almost looks like and old fashioned map. The walls are thick and firm, and the base is chunky and confident. A really lovely piece of wood. See below for the item gallery.

Cost: £tba

You can buy this item at my shop, Martin’s Bazaar in Hampshire (see map below), or you can order it directly online from my Etsy shop.

Please note: This item may be a one-off and subsequently may have been sold. If you would like a piece made especially for you, please contact me and I will be pleased to make something special for you. Price indicated does not include postage and packing costs and may be subject to change.

Thanks for reading and watching,
