Turning a Romanesque Pen Pot

I was recently gifted a load of wood from a local lady and have been puzzling over some of it which I have now discovered is likely to be dogwood.

Despite the name, it is really rather nice! Yellowy in colour and when dry, a dream to turn! So, with my Mum’s birthday already passed, I decided I’d turn her a little pen pot.

Initially, I wanted it to be conical, but, as you’ll see, it turned out a bit Romanesque in shape.

My work is available to buy from my real-world shop in Hampshire called Martin’s Bazaar (see map below), or you can order it directly online from the Etsy shop, as well as work from other talent artists who sell through the shop.
