Hazel and Cedar Natural Edge Bowls

Today was a lovely day in the workshop. I filmed Turner’s Journey E8 first thing and then got onto turning these two pieces.

First up is a 6″ hazel wood natural edge bowl with pretty thin walls. I love the figure in this piece. It was turned fairly wet, but it turned well and dried really quickly. Very nice piece, I think.

And here is a Cedar of Lebanon natural edge bowl at about 10″ across. Great, but a little scary to turn. One of the knots came flying out across the workshop. It missed me as I was working on the chuck recess at the time. Could have been painful otherwise.
